Origin Protocol is looking to hire a Frontend Engineer to join the team.
Origin Protocol's mission is to bring NFTs and DeFi to the masses and reach the next 100M users in crypto.
Our flagship products are Origin Story (www.story.xyz), the NFT platform that has powered multiple record-breaking NFT sales, and OUSD (www.ousd.com), the first stablecoin that earns yield automatically while in users' wallets. Our NFT value accrual token, OGN, is traded globally on Coinbase, Binance, Huobi, and other exchanges (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/origin-protocol/). Our OUSD governance token, OGV, recently launched and is available on Huobi, Gate.io, and other top exchanges (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/origin-dollar-governance).
Role
We are looking for a talented engineer with very strong front-end end development skills (React.js, CSS, JS).
Origin has a stacked engineering team. At Origin, you will have the chance to work alongside and learn from startup legends like Yu Pan, who was one of the founders of PayPal. You will also work closely with our founders (both developers) and other early engineers to architect and build out the Origin platform.
Our platform is built on decentralized technologies (Ethereum, IPFS). We use React.js, Node.js, Postgres, ethers.js.
As an early engineer, you will also be integral in setting both company and engineering culture and processes. You will help us evangelize the Origin mission and technology.
This is a remote position. We are a fully distributed organization, with team members across the globe.
Requirements
- 2+ years experience with React, CSS, and Javascript
- A keen eye for design and desire to make sure your work is pixel-perfect
- Experience with web3 blockchain technologies is a plus
- Experience with NFTs and DeFi protocol is a strong plus
- Bonus points if you have demonstrated open-source leadership or been involved as a contributor in a major open-source project
- Strong communication skills are particularly important as we are a distributed team
How to apply
Origin has an unconvential application process. As an open-source project with over 100 contributors, we hire almost exclusively from our community.
There are no white-board interviews.
Instead, we ask interested candidates to jump into our Discord, join one of our weekly engineering calls, pick an issue from our public project board and send us a pull request. Typically after two or three substantial pull requests, we'll get in touch with you to talk about next steps (usually a paid contractor role to further evaluate your skills and see if a fulltime role makes sense). At this point, you'll have a pretty good feel of what it's like to work with our team and will have been able to demonstrate your technical and communication skills.
Compensation and benefits
You will be paid a competitive salary and a cryptocurrency grant of Origin Tokens (OGN) and Origin Dollar Governance (OGV). We offer health, dental, and vision insurance.
