We at StoryCo are seeking a well-organized + enthusiastic Social Media Manager to join our dynamic, globally distributed team. In this role, you will work directly with our Content Marketing Manager to help shape and implement our broader marketing and content strategies. Your responsibilities will revolve around overseeing our Twitter, Reddit and Discord presences, where you will help execute the distribution of content both native to each platform and transposed across all 3 from longer pieces of content. Your time will be split between implementing long projects and initiatives and “hand-to-hand combat” engagement across all three platforms (responding to Twitter commenters, moderating discussion on Reddit/in Discord, etc.). You will have an editor’s mindset and a vigorous appetite for growth, ensuring the quality of all posted content (checking for typos, ensuring tags are correctly used, verifying that content is optimized for each platform, etc.) while constantly seeking opportunities to engage with new StoryCo fans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage + own StoryCo’s presence on Twitter, Reddit and Discord
- Help develop an engagement cadence + strategy with the goal of creating a self-perpetuating engagement flywheel across all three platforms
- Carry out engagement strategy, which will consist of responding to inbound engagement and seeking opportunities to engage externally
- Help craft a brand voice that feels native to each specific platform yet coherent within the broader company ethos and “vibe”
- Monitor and respond to direct messages/Discord tickets
- Assist in assessing engagement metrics and make your voice heard on strategic pivots
- Review + edit content that gets distributed on each platform
- Plan and carry out community events in Discord
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a social media role (internships ok)
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated writing + editing experience
- Prior experience with Twitter, Reddit and/or Discord (ideally some level of experience/familiarity with all 3)
- Experience with social media management tools like Black Magic/Hootsuite a plus
- An eagerness to develop our day-to-day social media engagement strategy with our content team
- A familiarity with Web3/AI/modern technology and how they are shaping the future of entertainment
- A passion for movies/TV/storytelling is a must
